Behind the Blog

Behind the Blog

It’s been an exciting few days for LivingIF as we’ve added content throughout the site.  With the help of our friends at Loud Website working stateside, we are approaching finalization of LivingIF.  You may not have known this, but the website is still under development.  If there is anything you see that isn’t working, or something you would like to see, give us a shout out at contactus <at>  Here are some new features:

Food and Drink Section

Interested in what we’re eating while on our trip?  Thanks to LOCAVORista, you can.  We will give short overviews of the things we eat or drink, most of which we can identify.  These articles don’t appear on the main page, so if you are interested you need to visit the Food and Drink section.  You will see these appear in the Recent Posts tab on the right sidebar.

We have added a rough itinerary of our trip to the Destinations section.  Within one day of posting this we are considering making substantial changes to our plans.  We have also added our first country specific tab, Vietnam, where you will find all photos and articles related to each country we visit.

Photo Galleries

If you have a fast internet connection and visit our photo galleries, click on “View with PicLens” for a great photo browser.  It sometimes is a little slow to load the higher resolution image, but it gives you a great view of our photos.  We are posting only “Best of” photo galleries, so you won’t have to spend your time wading through hundreds of photos.  There are some kinks in the photo galleries yet to be resolved, so bear with us and we will get more up there!

Photo Gallery Thumbnails

On the bottom left corner of the site you will now see thumbnails from random photo galleries, if you like a thumbnail click on it, you will get the see the whole album.  This feature should become better as we have more albums uploaded.

If you haven’t seen it already, check out the Journal section.  There you will find out what we are doing on a day-by-day basis.  These are short overviews, the interesting stuff gets an article to itself.  If anything you want to know about anything here, please let us know and we can tell you more.

Other News

  • We will be adding two new sections in coming days
  • Luckily, thus far, there has been great internet access.  Obviously we don’t know what the future will hold, but we will try to get new content out regularly.
  • Since we are traveling, we are going to try to post 4-7 posts a week between us, this will be less than we have been posting now, but it will ebb and flow due to access and what we are doing.
  • In news that may only interest me, my iPhone magically started fully functioning again.  I jailbroke and unlocked it in Singapore causing the alarm clock and music to stop working.  Today it just started working again, this will make the bus rides much more fun.

You are so good at this – making this quite intuitive – that I figured all that out myself when I popped on earlier today. Congrats, big time!. Found the Destinations, too, but didn’t get to attached to the current plan. However, like being able to check in on that. Now that we are trying to figure out the last half of this year and next year, we’d like to get a an idea of where we might meet up and be prepared. Maybe we could have a little email exchange on that on the side, as we are discovering so many possibilities as we get ready to do some “living if.”

Hope this excites you, too, instead of weighing you down, I am assuming your changes are based on what works for you. I think there is more love than demand among your following.

Showing you soem of that love!

Awesome website. Still trying to find my way around it as I just realized that I have been missing a couple of sections unless you added a lot of new things in the last 24 hours. Love the schedule and the “where to stay and not to stay” portions.

Sorry, comments for this entry are closed at this time.
