In 2009, LOCAVORista and thinkCHUA exchanged vows atop Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. After climbing the world’s highest freestanding mountain, they took a safari through the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara National Park. After two weeks with three showers and two changes of clothes, they honeymooned on Zanzibar before finishing off the trip in Nairobi. Check out the photo highlights below.

Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa, and one of the "Seven Summits". It is an inactive volcano towering over relatively flat Tanzania. It is the tallest freestanding mountain in the world and the site of LOCAVORista and thinkCHUA's wedding vows in 2009.
Zanzibar, a semi-autonomous island of Tanzania, is best known for its thriving spice trade. As a safe harbor on the trading route from Asia to Europe, it has been influenced by Europeans, Arabs, Persians, and Asians, which each left behind a cultural imprint.
Tanzania's primary tourist attraction is taking a safari, with the Serengeti being the most popular location. Most safaris include the National Parks of Ngorongoro Crater, a massive volcanic crater, Lake Manyara, and the Serengeti, which is home to the world's largest mammal migration.
Nairobi is one of Africa's most prominent cities with over three million inhabitants. Of those inhabitants, 200,000 live in Kibera, Africa's second largest slum. Previously it was the capital of British East Africa and remains the region headquarters of many multinational companies.
