Sabah is the second largest state in Malaysia after Sarawak and is often referred to as “The land below the wind”, because of its location just south of the typhoon-prone region around the Philippines. The capital of Sabah is Kota Kinabalu, the largest city in Malaysian Borneo. KK offers an array of markets featuring fresh fish and delicious food as well as easy access to Kinabalu National Park and the many islands off the coast of Borneo. We enjoyed exploring the rainforest in Sabah as well as taking in some local flavor at the markets.
