Ha Long Bay
Ha Long Bay (literally: “Descending Dragon Bay”) has an area of around 1,553 km2, including 1,960 islets, most of which are limestone. Legend has it that the isles were formed by dragons protecting the natives from Chinese invaders. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the most visited places in Vietnam.
