- North Face Base Camp Duffel (size large. Is a water-resistent carry all that zips up to secure our belongings. We keep our backpacks inside this when not hiking.)
- Osprey Atmos 50 (extraordinarily comfortable)
- North Face Surge backpack that has laptop sleeve (daypack, shared)
- Homemade medical kit (with gauze, bandaids, stomach illness medicine and allergy medicine)

- 800+ Down jacket that packs down to nothing (recommended)
- Long underwear top and bottom (Patagonia Capiliene 3 is great, but pricier wool is best)
- Waterproof daily gloves
- Gore-tex gloves and hat
- Hiking boots
- Hiking sandals: LOCAVORista prefers Chacos and thinkCHUA swears by Keens
- Running shoes, Nike Free, very packable and comfortable for walking
- 4 t-shirts, 2 collared for occasions you need to dress nicely
