Street Food | Vietnam

This delicious snack was eaten in Hoi An and seemed to be very popular with kids looking for a snack after school.  It was quite an operation with one woman mixing the egg batter and another that worked the frying station where several deep fryers were set up.  The batter would be dropped in a shallow indentation in a cast iron pan that would create the cup like shape of the fried dough.  Then a bed of lettuce and shredded carrots were arranged on a plate that the fried cups were added to.  Just before serving a spicy and sweet dressing would be poured over the top and a small sausage was put on the plate.  As with many things we eat on the street I wish I could give you a better idea of what this was, but it was delicious.  We enjoyed this snack several times.
