Madidi National Park (Amazon Rainforest)

.

While Bolivia is best known for its mountains, the eastern part of the country is part of the Amazon Basin.  In order to protect the unique biosphere, Bolivia created the Madidi National Park which is one of the best and cheapest places for visitors interested in experiencing the jungle.  As part of the world’s largest nature reserve, it is home to startling biodiversity, including 11% of the world’s bird species, pink freshwater dolphins and piranhas.  The park is truly a gem of the world.
