Montevideo

The capital of relatively safe and stable Uruguay there is not much to dislike about Montevideo.  There isn’t that much to like either.  Compared to many places in South America, Montevideo’s quiet cleanliness and efficiency will be a welcome respite from the typical South American capital metropolis.  It is really quite nice, but more memorable times will be had in Uruguay’s stunning beaches or Colonia de Sacramento.
